Eligibility Requirements

The Frontier Scholarship is a last-dollar award designed to cover 100% of tuition for Arkansas students who demonstrate significant financial need. While there's no strict income cutoff, eligibility is determined by the FAFSA.

How It Works

The Frontier Scholarship stacks on top of other aid. The university combines federal aid (like the Pell Grant) and state aid (like the Arkansas Challenge) with its own institutional funds to completely cover the cost of tuition.

  1. You apply and are admitted to the University of the Ozarks.
  2. You submit the FAFSA, which determines your eligibility for federal and state grants.
  3. The University of the Ozarks financial aid office awards the Frontier Scholarship to cover any remaining tuition balance.

How to Apply

The application process involves two main steps. You must complete both to be considered for the Frontier Scholarship.

  1. Apply for Admission to University of the Ozarks: Complete the admissions application on the university's website.
  2. File the FAFSA: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as it opens (typically in December). Be sure to list the University of the Ozarks (school code: 001101) on your FAFSA.
